went pond fishing with brandon on 03-07-2008.. the rate charge $50 for 5 hours.. fish releasing time 1000hrs, 1500hrs & 2000 hrs.. it works out to $10 for an hour.. i tink it's very reasonable.. found out abt this place from fishing website.. went to recee couple of times and finally decided to give it a try.. brandon was itching to fish as he had finished his U studies.. hahaha.. it was pretty quiet, no bites at all when we started fishing at abt 1230hrs.. the bigger fish was caught 20 mins after fishes were release at 1500hrs.. i didn't know my bait was taken by the Ang cho.. i was tying a hook when i look at the water again for my float.. realising that my float was missing, my heart began to pump faster and harder.. haha... i reeled in my line slowly and then there was a strong pull! immediately i set the hook and the fight was ON!! i reeled in without using much strength, so i guessed it's below 1kg mark.. as my line got closer.. the fish suddenly made a dash and my rod was bent to U shape!! as i'm only using 10 pound line, i decided to release the tension abit to let the fish pull and tired out.. for abt 5 times, the fish made a dash when i reeled in my line.. finally i saw an Ang Cho which looked quite a size.. carefully and slowly brandon helped me to bring up the fish!! haha.. the second fish was caught abt 10 mins before i ended my session.. we weighed the fish and the bigger one was 2.4kg, the smaller one was 1.4kg.. end of the day, i looked like a red lobster as the weather was damn hot.. but worthwhile.. looking forward to another session as brandon wanted to go again.. anyway, we are going for offshore trip with Uncle Chong on 15th July.. am excited and looking forward to the trip...

been busy since mid march, thus neglected to update blog..
basically i spent majority of my time monitoring sg and US stock market..
the rest were occupied by work, doing extra duties cos shortage of class 4 drivers.. really tired out cos in april i was working with only 1 off day per week.. wtf!!!
anyway, i had sold some of my stocks on hand.. for local stocks i'm in negative territory, but for US stocks, i'm in positive territory..
i had stayed away from trading as market is going thru a highly volatile period.. even with technical analysis, direction of trading patterns may go against what it should be.. so better stay at side line.. moreover the speculation of oil is reaching sky high and it seems like everyday it's hitting a new ceiling..
now that i have more free time, i think it's back to updating my blog again....
hahaha.....

recently got this blood pressure measuring device. operates on 2 AAA sizes batteries. my family has history of high blood pressure and is good that i have this thingy at home so that everyone can make good use of it to monitor their blood pressure movements. very easy to operate. juz need to wrap it around your wrist, press the red operate button and the result will show in approx 1 min.

you can check the previous 20 readings by pressing the memo button. it will show you the date and time of the last 20 readings.

this is my reading for today. it shows the systolic and diastolic reading. healthy range will read at about 130/90 if i'm not wrong. i took my medication in the morning and i took my reading at about 1pm. if i take my reading in the morning when i wake up, the reading will be kinda higher. no wonder it is said that in the morning when you wake up, your blood pressure is the highest. anyway, this device oso indicate your heartbeat rate. i strongly recommend to have one at home for those who have family members suffering from high blood pressure. cos when you are not feeling too well, you can use this to check if you have high or low blood pressure.

We had a gathering at Loyang Aloha from 24-26 Feb 08. Gum Gum happened to be Chee Weng's bird day oso.. actually there was a "surprise" lined up for him at midnite but due to some "security" issues, we abandoned the plan (no wonder some of the guys didn't turn up.. probably due to the cancellation of the "surprise"...) anyway, we had a fun time at the chalet.. chee weng was kinda happy that we bought the "special" cake for him... well... real chabor in bikini dun have... but bikini in cake oso can la.... no wonder he looked so Sexcited... ooppsss... i mean excited.... took some pics and oso the videos.... sorry... think you guys gotta watch the videos with your head tilted... tried to edit to potrait but couldn't... enjoy....

whilst taking this photo of chee weng, i asked him whether he happy or not?? cos if he's not happy then probably when night falls, he will be a very HAPPY man cos we had something lined up for him (juz bluff him nia. make him happy even though we had cancelled the plan). he looked kinda worried... wahaha.....!!!

An Early Reunion Dinner tonite 26-01-2008

CNY is 11 days away.. but my family gonna have an early reunion dinner.. we have been doing to same thing for the past 16 yrs ever since my sis got married.. reason for having early reunion dinner cos my sis and her family need to go to her husband's mum home for reunion dinner on the eve of CNY.. we usually have our dinner the last weekend b4 CNY, but this year... haiz.. so many places fully booked.. so bo bian, gotta have it on the last second weekend b4 CNY.. this year we gonna have our dinner at a makan place which is located in Bedok, below HDB flat.. this makan place was formely a coffeeshop but was turned into a air-conditioned makan place.. been there once, food not bad.. will take some pics later and upload it tonite.. btw, how come no live FA Cup match for liverpool's game huh?? nabei.. other matches showing live.. saw chelsea got live match... nabei....

My sis called me in the morning asking me if i'm able to go for dinner to celebrate my nephew damien's birthday.. since i not working then go lor...
this makan place is an authentic thai eatery... known as "TUK TUK" Thai Kitchen, location is no.135/137 east coast road.. it's near the the junction of east coast road and joo chiat road.. diagonally opp katong mall.. we had a hard time finding parking lots.. ended parking some 400metres away from the shop.. this thai eatery shop offers valet parking if you wan convenience.. outside the shop there's this Tuk Tuk cab on display..
The shop was fully packed but lucky my sis called to book table for 11 pax...
The waiter and waitress are all thai nationals (but i did see a guy who looks like indian, mayb he's a thai).. the cooks in the kitchen are thais too... owner is a singaporean guy with thai wife.. frankly speaking, had not tasted such authentic thai food in sg.. the bill came to $220 for 11 pax.. not that expensive la.. we had pineapple rice, fried rice, white rice, 2 garoupa fish, 3 pots of crab tang hoon (vermicelli), 2 plates of papaya salad (very yummy), 2 plates of deep fried chicken in pandan leaves, 3 pots of tomyum seafood, 1 plate of fried long beans, 1 plate of prawn omelette, 1 plate of hot plate black pepper beef (yummy too). for desserts we had - 3 plates of tapoica with coconut milk, 3 bowls of red rubby, 2 plates of mango with sticky rice, 10 pcs of coconut jellly with waterchestnut and corn... i can only remember these dishes, but i think should be more or less llike that la.. i dun mind going again.... wahaha.....

tom yum seafood. perfect sour and spicy soup, but the prawn not very good
we had 2 deep fried garoupa, one with chilli sauce one without. i ate the head of both garoupa. if i'm right, the price of each garoupa is $15/=
tang hoon with crab.. the tang hoon taste yummy, i didn't eat the crab as i had them the day before, so can't take too much.. high cholestrol.. from the look of it, definitely more worthwhile then the CRAP beehoon i had the previous nite. if not wrong, each pot of crab beehoon cost $15/=..

i don't fancy the thai sour salad, but i must say this papaya salad taste real yummy...
there are 3 different kinda chilli sauce, the one on top is my favourite....
desserts time - coconut jelly with water chestnut and corn in it..
desserts time - mango with sticky rice.. i didn't take this as i was quite full liao.. the rice is actually glutinous rice...
finally, cheese cake with mini oreo, my sis bought for my nehpew.. stomach kinda gonna explode liao, so didn't eat the cake..

my nephew called me in the evening asking me whether i'm aware that his birthday is juz 1 day away? oso asked me what birthday present i bought for him... i totally forgotten abt his birthday present so i juz replied "i know your birthday coming, but i'm very busy at work and couldn't find time to buy present.. instead i'll give you something else".. he sadly replied ok lor.. and he asked me if i wanna eat Crab Bee Hoon cos he's having dinner with his mum and dad and oso my mum at elias mall.. i said ok as the i had tried the crab beehoon there before.. when they arrived at my place, i went down to pass ang bao to my nephew and oso to take the crab beehoon.. was damn hungry and when i opened the packet, i nearly fainted!! the beehoon was seperately packed and the crab is of very lousy quality!! saw the bill for the crab beehoon was $47/=!!! they purposely filled the container of crab with lots of gravy so that you won't be able to see the crab!! the pincers were big but the flesh inside was only 1/2 filled and the body of the crab was even worse!! the flesh were 1/2 attached!! this is what we called heavy crab with little meat!! it's heavy not becos it's a flesh full packed crab, but bcos of it's shell...!! next time if you wanna buy crab, you gotta hold on to the crab, turn its belly upside, pressed the belly to see if it's hard and make sure no bubbles and water oozing out when you pressed.. if it's soft and bubbles and water oozing out, the crab is no good.. thats why many zu char stalls dun like customers to test the crab this way, as they will end up with all the lousy crabs unsold.. anyway, told my sis to call the zu char stall to inform them abt the quality of the crab. the zu char stall replied "oh really huh??!! haiz.. bo bian leh.. cos our regular crab supplier no stock so we got the supply from another supplier... anyway, we will take note of it... thank you..."

well, what can i say... LL eat the crab lor.. as for the beehoon, i soaked them in the gravy and ate it half an hour later so that the beehoon will taste better... i wondered.. am i eating crab beehoon or CRAP beehoon.... haiz..... take a look at the pics...

after work met up with liao and april. they picked me up from my office.. wanted to eat the kway chap at toa payoh near the former Toa Payoh Police Station.. upon arrival, it was closed.. so ended up eating Lee Nam Fan Kee chicken rice... all i can say is that the standard of the chicken and rice not as good as before.. well, it's the last time i gonna eat there.. after dinner went to AMK hub NTUC to buy chinese new year goodies.. the bill was $101/=!! didn't buy much stuffs but so ex.... but compared to liao and april.... their bill was $300 plus.... wah lau eh..!!!

ivan ho called me today to inform that he got his pleasure craft licence liao... he sounded very happy.. haha.... think the next time we can go hire a boat to go offshore fishing liao..... chiong ah.........!!!!

these few nites i have been sleeping early.... 10pm plus... dun know why... nowadays feel sleepy and tired whenever it reaches 11pm... past 3 nites slept before 1130pm... wakoz... heavy rain now... the rain making me lagi sleepy... wahaha.....
2moro last day of my course... got pratical at tuas some more... wah piang eh... sian man..
coming to think of it, another 3 yrs i will be 40 yrs old liao... wah lau.... can't believe it man.. time pass sibeh fast.. when i was in my early 20s... during nite shifts won't feel sleepy, next day still can go out and chiong... not now anymore... nite shift by 11pm beginning to feel sleepy liao... wahaha... i still remember the orang lamas telling me that when i reach 30 plus years old i will feel it... and now i'm feeling it... well.... thats all for tonite... gonna sleep liao... mayb 2moro nite then update provided i dun zzz early la.... ha..ha....

started my leave from 18 Dec 07.. will be going back to work on 5 Jan 08.. nowadays, i don't feel the eagerness to return to work from leave.. Christmas eve stayed at home, New Year Eve stayed at home too.. surprisingly, i slept early.. wahaha... gone were the days that "die die must go chiong on these 2 holiday eves".. i'm wondering, is this a sign of ageing or symptoms of anti social behaviour....??? ha..ha... i think it gotta be age..
juz last week, something which all the while to be i think which is not important came creeping back to my mind.. all this while, i think marriage is a troublesome thing.. what if can't get along and wanted divorce? won't there be lots of legal issues and oso lots of paper signing and these and that.. worst if fight for custody of children...
what crept into my mind was.... one day i get old and die... i wont have any child to send me off on my last journey.. haiz.. come to think of it, very pathetic leh... and of course lonely... so, i think i will make all the necessary arrangements will i'm still alive.... ha.ha... like buying an altar space for myself so that whoever wanna come visit after my death will be able to find me (or will there be anyone to visit me????)
whoever you are reading this, pls don't get the wrong idea hor.... wahaha... i'm juz planning way ahead..... cos eventually if i get old... i will be a lonely soul... what i dread most is dying alone at home without anybody realising till the decomposed smell catches someone's attention.. i don't wan to die that way... wahaha.... mayb will get myself into an old aged home.. in this way, if i kick the bucket, at least i will be discovered earlier mah... i know that my health status ain't too good.. high blood, problem with my leg... i'm sure as age catches up, it will worsen..
think it's abt time to stay healthy and do more sports... thinking of buying roller blades.. dun know difficult to master the art of roller blading a not leh...

A Sad Ending To Year 2007

I was away in Genting Highlands from 27 Dec 07, returning to SG on 30 Dec 07.. I took some pics of during my time in Genting, with intention to post them here when i return.. but on 29 Dec 07, i received sms and call from loh hee khim and liew chee meng respectively, informing me that our good friend ang thiam chin committed suicide.. i was shocked! really shocked to receive the news.. was told that his wife wanted to divorce him and thus he chose to take his life by hanging himself.. my mood changed totally.. deep inside i felt sad.. i returned to SG on 30 Dec 07 by coach via tuas. without much delay, from tuas i rushed to choa chu kang where ang's funeral wake was. as i walked towards his altar, i really couldn't believe myself that right in front of me, inside the coffin, was ang thiam chin! i took a joss stick lit it and pray to him, my long time fren of nearly 20 years.. as i sat with loh, liew, benson, etc.. we all were totally shocked with what happened..
next day 31 Dec 07, i arrived at the wake as the cortege will be leaving for mandai for cremation.. ang's parents were sobbing and shouting his name.. a scene which made many ppl heart sank.. i offered a joss stick to ang and then sent him on his last journey.. ho and the rest carried the coffin for a short distance and then in it went into the hearse.. i tried very hard holding back my tears.. upon reaching mandai, everyone were asked to offer our last respect to ang with 3 bows.. as the coffin was pushed into the incinerator, i could no longer hold back my grief and tears.. so long my dear fren, ang... may peace be with you and may you bless your daughter.. don't think she knew what was going on.. saw her running around at the wake with a packet drink and smiling..

2007 ended with a sad note which i completely didn't expect it to be so.. thinking back of those happy times we all had at the SAF changi chalet with ho, teck koon, benson, poh tock, fook weng, etc... we even had a good laugh at ang when he drank liquor and ate banana which caused his diarrhea.. but now, it will be something which we will never be able to laugh and make fun of again.. right now, i wish that you will be living happily in a world of yours and in a world without sufferings... take good care my dear fren, ang thiam chin.. i will remember you always, we will remember you always... remember to bless your daughter and look over her thru her growing up..... goodbye my good fren, ang.... goodbye....

was in calgary, canada to attend a course. This is the first time i'm stepping on US and Canada soil. all along i dun fancy having a holiday in US or Canada as i find that there are some communication barriers (inside me)... or mayb it's juz that my personal feelings of ...... (ha ha ha...)anyway, the place i went to was a town known as medicine hat. did i juz said town? fyi, the town itseld is much bigger than the island of singapore. really couldn't get used to their life there esp when it comes to food.. the most frustrated thing was we couldn't find hiam jio (chilli)!!! everywhere we go eat, only ketchup ketchup and more ketchup!!! sian half aledi.. everyday eat burger till sianz.. worst of all, during training, our lunch oso burger and pizza.. and mind you! it's cold not warm meals... our lunch were taken out from the fridge.. really suffering.. didn't expect course to start early every morning. gotta wake up at 0545hrs then go breakfast and then the trainers will come pick us up at 0700hrs sharp!!! the last day of course, we wanted to try the much talked about steak at a steakhouse known as "Beefeater".. we braved the coldness (5 degrees), walked from hotel to steakhouse which was about half an hour walk. we were damn f%*&ing happy dat we found the place but the restaurant running on full house. we ended up eating western food.. haiz.. btw, one funny thing we observed, we weren't able to flag a cab on the street like what we do in sg.. gotta get the eating place waitress to help us phone for a cab... we decided to take a cab back as the temperature was dropping and it will be very chilling to walk back to hotel..in a nutshell, the trip was quite a pleasant one.. will post some pics which i took in canada and LA....

My private jet.... ke ke ke... it's a twin prop small jet which can sit up to 20 passengers.. i took this jet from calgary to medicine hat.. journey was abt 40 mins.. quite an enjoyable flight as this is the first time i'm flying in such a small plane...

Last few weeks busy working on computer, thus couldn't squeeze time out to update blog...

Adding on to it, my mum was down with urine infection so gotta take care of her. shuttling between my sis's place and punggol cos my mum stays with my sis during weekdays to help with house chores and fetching her grand children to and fro tuition.

Well... there was another thing which kept me down on mood.... only brandon and liao know what it was.... all bcos of one idiotic guy mistake and it cost me lots of problem... was thinking if my canada course confirm aledi.... during transit via tokyo coming back singapore, i may spent few days in tokyo... but there goes my plans.... haiz..... but i will not be beaten.....!!! ha...ha.... i will be back for revenge..... but this time round gotta be careful....

like to share this link with you guys. this was done by a man who was suffering from parkinson's disease. he wanted to do this slide before he loses all his memory. he wanted his children to remember him and love him after he loses his memory. he knew that he will not be able to remember his children, friends, relatives.. his greatest love was his children.

all i can say is.... it's very very very touching and meaningful. i love it so much that i played it more than 30 times... whenever i have feel boring, i will go to this link.. it reminded me to be filial towards my parents, love them, take care of them when they are still around. cos when they are gone, you will realised things that you should had done for them which you didn't.. i'm halfway done with a powerpoint slide which is something similar to this.. hope to share with you guys soon...

can't believe it!!! three cases in a day!! work till like mad dog!!!
last nite shift team kena at 6.30am and returned to office at 7pm!!! this is crazy!!!
my team kena 2 cases. went out at 8.15am and returned at 7 pm too.....!!
i think this is the record of number of 302 cases in a single day...!! juz too suay that i working...!! anyway, sometimes i really detest those ppl who are hanging around at our outside workplace.. this fellow wants this to be done, the other fellow wants that to be done..
don't understand why some ppl juz simply can't keep their big mouth shout! nothing to say, juz stand aside and watch. don't open mouth like will anytime die like that. sometimes it gets even worse! different fellow try to be in control and that's when disagreement starts...
watever, i feel better after letting off some steam liao...... wahaha... 2moro is another busy day liao.... sian ah..... offday oso kena burnt......

Oversea Offshore Fishing Trip 23-24 June 2007

anglers getting excited before reaching the 1st spot. roger (standing up) was the champ as he was up all thru the nite fishing. even when the sharks and rays were landed, he didn't give up like the rest of us. i was the one who slept the most from abt 10pm till 7am the next morning.. ha ha... cos really give up on the catches. not only me, the rest of the anglers were all disappointed. we tink that Batam fishing spots all kena over fished liao.. the catches are getting from bad to worse and from worse to worst.... i don't think i will be going to Batam for offshore fishing anymore.... haiz.....

this boat has a sleeping room. 2 double decks bed. quite comfy cos you can open the windows to enjoy the seabreeze and view the sea.

the 1.5 litres bottle of mineral water was used to compare the size of the fishes. our biggest catch was a parrot fish, a kaci and ACK. each weighed abt 2kg. there were abt 4 stingrays caught. 2 brown rays and 2 blue spotted rays. their weight from 1.5kg to abt 700 grams. the rest were all below the 1 kg mark. they consisted of teeboon, ack, kee fish, susan, deepsea kbl and arumugam. some of the fishes were deepfried for dinner on 23Jun. in total, there were about 24 fishes of different sizes. those irritating dog sharks and leopard sharks were thrown back to the sea. oh! and there were 2 eels caught. really pathetic.... so little catches for 9 anglers! malu ah....!!!

we had a quick lunch at this seafood restaurant located at Batu Besar (Big Stone) before our ferry back to singapore. we ordered 2 groupers, steam prawns (all damn small!), scallops, soup, kangkong. not really fantastic, but becos we were hungry, that's y we ate everything clean! the bill was about S$150. all of us agreed that it was kinda expensive.. hmm.. mayb due to the fact that we are foreigners, so we went under the blade of the knife!
the coconuts we had really sucks big time! big & old coconut. not sweet at all. unlike thai coconuts, small and sweet!

after a very very heavy japanese buffet lunch, we went walked around and came across these little children playing drums on stage. they are from a music training school located in suntec city. the amazing thing is, these little gals played very well too! the one in white is 5 yrs old and the other in pink is 9 yrs old. i couldn't control myself but quickly took out my camera phone and snapped shots of them performing on the drums. these gals rocks....!!!! i enjoyed watching them playing the drums. suddenly i had the feeling of having a daughter... hahaha...

Buffet Lunch at Kushin Bo Japanese Restaurant, Suntec City, 16 Jun 07

Went for japanese buffet lunch at Kushin Bo (did i get the name rite?) with Brandon and his galfren Demy. Brandon gave me a treat and i don't even know what was it for! haha.. but neber mind, told him that the next one on me.. The food was kinda good.. we enjoyed ourselves. each pax abt $33 after all the plus plus.. the prawns were kinda fresh and i had quite a few of them.. and we had lots of stir fried beef (really yummy) and sashimi as well.. the salmon sashimi were fresh too.. will be looking forward to the next makan there..
